Derek, you're still going to need to clean the barrel out unless you want an infected imperial red. You may want to try and work out a time with some other members to help you do that.
any updates on this derek? Usually the person with the barrel spearheads these things.
Is anyone else interested in brewing this so we could get started on it?
Also, I think it'd be adviseable to clean the barrel out. Maybe you, I, and either kyle or dave could do the barrel cleaning. I say this only because kyle and dave have done it before. I'd be willing to help out. I have the next two days off (thurs and fri).
I've never made a red ale before, so I don't have much to say about the recipe. It looks like a pretty big beer but that means it'll do fine aging in the barrel.

I'm still planning on doing this. Right now finding a job has been more important...
February is probably more realistic...stay tuned.
Totally agree!
I've been on vacation in Oregon. I get back this weekend. I'll get it rollin soon.

How does this look?
Is an imperial too costly for people to collaborate to fill the barrel?
Is there anything that should be added or lessened?
wow, that is a big grain bill. I might possibly brew for this. Especially if there's a group buy for the specialty grains and hops.
I might be game for this one, I'm down for the cali common and olde ale so I think this is doable...
Anyone who brewed for this barrel and is still around, please see the new thread here about emptying this barrel. It's time to claim your beer!
