We've been invited to serve at yet another fundraiser. This one raises money for Mary Bartelme Park in the West Loop. Here's the request I received:
The event is on September 9th from 4:00 – 10:00pm. We block off the entire block of Sangamon between Monroe and Adams. We also use the park for the event. We will have food trucks, live music, dj, kids events, local vendors/businesses, Brooklyn Boulders Climbing Wall, and a bonfire. We strike a more local theme so having you involved seems so fitting.
Funds raised from this event go to fund our events and park improvements.
Lagunitas has participated for the last few years but have not yet confirmed with them.
Is anyone interested in taking the lead on organizing our presence at the block party? I can help out with organizing, but I am not able to attend. I don't think we need a ton of beer for the event, but I'm sure whatever we bring will go quickly.
If anyone is interested, please let me know. Thanks!
To start off with, how much beer are they requesting and will gas/ice be provided?
With brew b q over and the number of festivals we are already involved in, that's a lot of beer the club will need to supply.
They didn't request a specific amount, so whatever we can bring works. I would say two to three kegs would make it worth our time. We will need to supply our own ice and cups.
I agree, we have the Racine beer fest, then the forest preserve one at the end of September, so it will be cutting things close. If you guys don't think we can swing it, that's perfectly fine.
I can supply my jockey box / gas for this event and work it if people want to fill in behind me?

Thanks, James! I'll give this another day or two to see if we get more interest so you aren't there by yourself.
Ok no biggie if we skip it.

James, I told they guy we wouldn't be able to participate. We're already committed for another event at the end of September, if you're interested. (Check out the Beer in the Woods post.)
No worries
