We received the following e-mail from Jenny Pfafflin at Cicerone.org.
Hello CHAOS members!
Since expanding our classroom space earlier last summer, we’ve also been able to expand our in-person educational offerings, including off-flavor training.
Our basic off-flavor class has been designed for those interested in taking the Certified Cicerone exam, but as homebrewers and BJCP judges, you may find the class beneficial by continuing to train on identifying common off-flavors that develop during the brewing and fermentation process.
OFF FLAVOR TRAINING
Our hands-on off-flavor class covers tasting through six basic off-flavors and discussing their causes: Diacetyl, DMS, Acetaldehyde, T2N, Lightstruck, and Infection.
The next off-flavor classes in Chicago are:
June 2: http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/1353596
July 20: http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/1353598
Also, those interested in brushing up on beer styles may also enjoy an afternoon of hands-on tasting with our new BeerSavvy bootcamps:
BEERSAVVY® BOOTCAMP
This four-hour, interactive class is intended to prepare those interested in pursuing the first level of certification, the Certified Beer Server exam. This bootcamp covers five foundation beer styles and the basic aspects of beer service.
Upcoming 2015 Beersavvy Bootcamp dates include:
June 24 - 2-6 pm
August 12 - 2-6 pm
October 5 - 2-6 pm
