Silicon Tubing for the Brewhouse

We just purchased more silicon tubing for the brewhouse - this is the third time we've purchased this tubing in about a year.  It is surprisingly expensive, $3 per foot, and I'm not sure what is happening to our tubing, why we are constantly running out of it.  I imagine it is either being repurposed for something at the brewhouse (blow-off tubing, jockey box/keezer/mash tun builds) or people are taking it home.

In any case, please don't take the tubing for your personal blowoff tubing or home.  If you do need to use it for a brewhouse project, please let me, Brandon or Jeff know so we can restock it.  If the project doesn't require heat-resistant tubing, then use a less expensive tubing, please.

I'll cop to taking one. I

I'll cop to taking one. I finished my brew and had a new carboy and my old airlock didnt fit, so I had to improvise. Once I transfer over to secondary I'll return it.

Jim, next amazon order, can

Jim, next amazon order, can you grab some multicolored electrical tape? We can mark the tubes, no rush. ( We also don't need the expensive high-temp silicone, vinyl is much cheaper.)

Yeah, but vinyl tubing sucks.

Yeah, but vinyl tubing sucks.

Silicone tubing off Amazon isn't that bad. Buy in bulk and it gets closer to ~$1.25-1.50 per foot. I buy all the silicone tubing for my work off Amazon.

I'll take a look at the cost

I'll take a look at the cost on Amazon and also get some colored electrical tape.  Jay, no harm, we all have had those situations where we need to figure out how to make something work on the spot.
