After talking at the last monthly meeting Niilo has been kind enough to hook a few of us up with some 5g whiskey barrels from his buddy John at Farmhouse Brewing Supply. To save on the shipping, which is a lot for barrels, I'll be picking them up next Thurs when I'm in Rockford and will have them back to the brewhouse on Monday the 16th. Now here is where it gets interesting. I'm in for one, Justin is in for two, and we can't remember the 3rd person who said they were in for one. SOOOOO, if you were at the meeting and that person, reply here to claim your barrel.
Additionally, if you would be interested in your own 5g barrel reply here and Niilo will see what he can do to get some more. He's getting us a great deal so it won't be an unlimited number, first come first served if available. I also can only fit so many in my car since I'll be coming back from a weekend trip, so i would say at most I can only fit 3-4 more.
Is it too late to get in on this? Also, what kind of whiskey was in the barrels? Also also, what kind of cleaning solution would I need?
Niilo is going to talk to John to make sure it's not too late to postpone our order and do everyhing at once n. I'll post here when I have an update bit it shouldn't be a problem
hey, would have been nice to coordinate this a little with the barreling program that's meeting to discuss purchasing barrels on the 10th from jon at farmhouse. Do you need to know by a certain date?
I forgot to mention, the barrels will be $95 each. I'll try to hook up with everyone that wants one during the week as I'd prefer to pay the guy cash since he's hooking us up nicely.
