I've agreed to be the judging director at the 2018 Chicago Cup competition, held on March 24th. The website isn't up yet, but I wanted to give CHAOSites an early heads-up. I would love it if CHAOS took some medals this year - maybe more than some! The Chicago Cup is an actual competition between clubs - the club that accumulates the most points wins that year's Chicago Cup. Even if we didn't win the Cup, to have an impressive showing would be very cool. I'd love to be announcing CHAOS winners during the awards dinner!
I'll make sure we can collect entries at the Brewhouse, stay tuned for that info. But for now, the big thing is to plan your brews and get brewing! Five months isn't that far away, especially for big beers.
Good to know, Jim! I'll put this in my calendar. Thanks for the heads up!
Brew so hard...

Hmmm... 5 months...the Chicago style wild might be ready by then. Or it might have turned into indole.
Can we get some more info Jim? What styles? What type of competition it is?
It's a full BJCP competition (all styles).
So it's the Charlie Orr Memorial Cup.
Its official title is the Charlie Orr Memorial Chicago Cup, we tend to shorten it to the Chicago Cup, its the oldest homebrewing competition in Chicago and is put on by BOSS. I'll let you know when the IT director gets the website up, with all the details, that's usually after the holidays. i just wanted to give CHAOSers a heads up to plan some brews for it before then.
