The organization currently has a reserve set of $2000. This leaves $1300 available for improvement projects. Members are asked to bring ideas ready for the next meeting.
We have moved to an online gas bill estimator to help equitably divide the gas bill with the residents. It considers use of the furnace and burners on a per brew basis.
Membership
As of today there are 11 apprentice, 18 friend and 36 brewer level members.
A member asked that the liability waiver for brewhouse use be revised to remove a hold harmless waiver in favor of the club. After a brief discussion, the hold harmless clause was found to be central to the waiver. Request denied.
There is a new credit card processor handling website subscriptions, when each subscription expires this month, the member will have to manually renew. Paypal has been dropped as our payment processor saving $60 per month.
There are a few spots left in the BJCP classes to be led by James. Classes will be held at rock bottom brewery and are open to non-members. The class is limited to 20 members and is jointly sponsored by CHAOS and Square Kegs.
An introduction to brewing class will be offered to new members on a periodic basis switching between extract and all grain. Students will be given an ingredient list before class and have to supply their own ingredients. The class is being promoted directly to new members as they sign up.
The spaces in the loft are being divided. One space is complementary to each alchemist, extra spaces will be rented to any brewer level member for a small monthly fee.
The motor is ready for the grain mill and the required other parts have been purchased. It will be constructed as time allows.
The website was attacked, but nothing happened and service was not interrupted.
We would like to have more social media activity in general. Any board members who would like Twitter or Facebook admin rights to post, please let one of the current admins know.
New terms for all officers start at the April annual meeting. A third of the board is also up for election. Please let the current officers know if you would like to step off of the board or keep your officer slot.
We have 20 beers for stout night, we still need a few volunteers. Please sign up on the website if you would like to help. Chili will be provided by the club for the event. Temporary 2 month memberships are being offered for the event.
