Make Reservations in our system if you are brewing, bottling, or kegging.

Just a heads up to anyone wanting to bottle/brew at Chaos. You MUST put in a reservation into the system to use a station. Please don’t just stop by randomly to bottle/keg your beers. Last night we had over 13 people trying to keg, brew, and bottle at the same time. That’s unacceptable! There isn’t enough room in the brewhouse for this many people trying to work and make good beer.  It causes unneeded stress for those that have reserved a brew station or bottling station.   Also, respect people’s work space while they are brewing/bottling. We all put a lot of work into trying to make good beer, and some people don’t want others storing random things on your brew stations while brewing. Some people have ingredients weighed out, computers on their station, timers, scales ect.  If they have the station reserved, then make a reservation and use your own area.

This might seem petty to some people but as a community space, we need to follow the rules that have always been in place from day one. Make a reservation if you want to keg, bottle, or brew. If the brewhouse is full or being used then make a reservation at the next available time slot.

Also true for reserving space

Also true for reserving space in the cold fermentation fridges and lagering fridge (there is a reservation document under the brewhouse drop down at the top of this page). If you just randomly stick your fermentor or keg in the fridges without reservations, it can and probably will, be pulled back out to make room for those that have planned in advance through the appropriate channels.

A point of clarification (not

A point of clarification (not complaining, its only an issue when we're busy):  The second bottling station and the table for brewers using the TOP are the same small stainless steel table. The one between the TOP and the computer station.

Yesterday afternoon, I was in, I had reserved the second bottling station because the first was booked up already, and with the TOP being used, the second bottlign station wasn't available.  It didn't matter then, because one of the brewing stations was unused at that point, but if it had been later in the evening, it would have been a problem.

We should only have 1

We should only have 1 bottling station, not 2. If anyone knows how to fix this on the website, please do.

Matt, that is correct. The

Matt, that is correct. The only table reserved for bottling is the one with all the bottling equipment underneath it. Two people may share that table using two bottling buckets. The table next to the ToP is for that brew station.

We have been unable to adjust the diagram on the reservation page, but I'll revisit that with our more Drupal savvy members.

Also both Reed and I kinda

Also both Reed and I kinda thought (while at the BH last night) that station 4 and the bottling station tables should switch (can just move the peg board items). Then the bottling station is not in the middle of two brew stations.

Yeah, that's not at all clear

Yeah, that's not at all clear on the reservation page (that the smaller table isn't reservable as a bottling/racking/mucking around table.) Good to know.

Fwiw, i'd not be in favor of having two reservations at the same time for the bottling station - for the reasons Todd started this thread, too many bodies for the space.

Could the computer go next to

Could the computer go next to the mill? this puts bottling stations side by side with open floor in front of them and not pinned between the station and the big sink. TOP work space and station 4 will be side by side

I think it's possible for two

I think it's possible for two people to bottle on one table without crossing streams. Kyle/Reed's idea of swapping the bottling station with brew bay 4 seems like it will create more room for two bottlers, should that occur.

I've asked the cleaning crew to switch them next Thursday, as the tables and burners will be pulled from the wall anyway. We'll see what happens from there.
