Motion approved November meeting notes
Attended: Conrad, ken, josh, Dave, Matt, Mark, Nancy, Stephen, Jamie, Jeff, chuck, Jim, Brock
NHC proposal and budget:
- ghost buster style dispensing beer
- serve 2 beers during our session, costs associated with that. Thinking serving barrel aged and a group brew day beer
- last year budget was $750 for NHC
- we can repurpose the packs
- make a video for the session, video complete by may, conference is in June.
Include stout nights and cinco. Pay videographer with beer.
- Dave: could look into doing a group shipment with other clubs or laguinitas
- preliminary budget $750 keep it annually (everyone agrees)
Aschenbrener Law
- retaining an attorney for issues with our landlord, they are representing us probono
He wants more money, says we shouldn't have taken down walls.
- meeting with him on Monday jan. 12
Building repairs: Adobe group finished the contracting, patched ceiling and walls, finished bar area ceiling and front wall complete.
Carboys and buckets
- 2 per person
- give them 2 weeks to clean up and take them (by stout night)
- possibly tag em, if not used in certain time, toss them (the might be abandoned)
- do a full inventory of their abandoned Carboys.

Brew house heat: (chuck)
- heater needs to fixed (its from 1968)
- we have an old 1995 heater could get it up and running
- mark: $250 service call last year
- we can hook it up, run gas, electric, but then hire someone to come in and light it up.
- mark: can purchase one off Craig's list for $500
- josh: can we test the other one?
- Mark: I think to avoid more issues with the landlord, leave the other one where it is, we should get a new/used one that works. (Chuck agrees)
- Dave/chuck: lock box to prevent people turning on/off the heater improperly

Stout night:
- trying to be as minimal as possible
- asking Mariano's to donate food for making chili
- would be great to have a band (budget $250)
- portopotties is currently our biggest expense at $125
- if we don't have a band we need a sound system
- we can ask al, who we had last year.
- Jamie: a solo player would work better than full band as far as PA system.
- reach out to possible performers to gather interest
- Dave/Stephen will follow up with dolor performers.
Committee reports move to website with 2 mins of critical recap during meetings.
2 min recap:
- Finance (mark): compost (resource center) hasn't billed since last April. But we are schedule now. We have 5k in bank right now.
- Membership (Jim): we still have outstanding dues.
- Brewhouse (chuck): we need to paint in the front, maybe a mural if we buy the paint. I already discussed the heating issue. Our hot water heater needs to be fixed, it runs out. I'd like to get hot water on demand. And we put a reserve for $500 to get it up and running it maybe more/less.
- education (Matt): Tuesday is club brew day. I also want to do a stir plate class. Need to figure out the details on that. I wanted that to be end of February, but we'll hash that out. Also still working on a Home-brew club social, potluck social.
Member meeting:
- should we move it to another day to get more people here?
- should it not be tacked on after board meeting meeting?
- nancy: could we do a field trip at a brewery and have our membership meeting
