Not sure if this is the best place for this, but here are the board meeting minutes from this month. The general meeting minutes will be up shortly.

CHAOS Board Meeting Minutes
1. Welcome to the new board & officers
a. Currently the number of board members is 9, but we could expand it going forward. Officers are not automatically voting members of the board. Whenever possible, all meetings will be open to the full membership. We will post an open agenda the week before the meeting, which anyone can edit, it will be locked the Friday night before the meeting. Meetings will continue to be the first Sunday of the month at 4:30.
b. Board members must attend 9 of 12 monthly meetings but may do so by phone, we’re going to make a call in line available.
c. Mark Walters was confirmed as Secretary until the next annual meeting.
2. Finance Update
a. We will have two months of operating expenses in reserve ($2000) before using money for brew house improvements.
b. We currently have $958 in recurring monthly expenses.
3. Incorporation Status
a. 501c3 – Is filed and pending with the IRS, could be up to 90 days from application.
b. State Charity – Is filed and pending.
c. Sales Tax - Is filed and pending.
4. Membership Update
a. In the transition we have issued $100 in refunds. People are beginning to register on the new website.
b. Membership cards are being distributed through the mail.
c. Recruiting – We will be passively recruiting through natural word of mouth and events.
d. A list of membership discounts is being posted on the website. We need more people to approach bars / stores for discounts.
5. Website Update
a. Paypal is our current merchant services provider, currently $60 per month, will decrease to $30 upon 501c3 acknowledgement.
b. Performance / Hosting Options – The site is currently running slowly at peak times on a non-dedicated server, Lucas is checking on moving to a dedicated server or faster options.
c. Migration Recap – The entire website was migrated Oct 6, 2012. Ning will be continued for 60 days to make sure people don’t lose us. 763 web members were migrated from ning.
6. Brew house Improvements – On Tuesday Oct 2, James led us in an effort to reorganize and improve the brew house for 24 hour access by more people. Gas line was installed for more brew bays, a fermenter rack was built, a water filter was installed, the keezer was moved and a stand was built for the chiller. Thanks to new refrigerators acquired by Iggy, we will have laagering capability within a few weeks.
7. Events
a. Harvest Fest – is Oct 20, flyers will be out ASAP. All attendees must be paid registered members on the website. We will have an iPad at the door for registration. A budget of $500 was approved for food / music / other expenses. Please do everything possible to make this event a success.
b. Open house – is Oct 13, hosted by James and Dave – see you all there!
9. Home Brew Bill pending – Rep Farnham introduced HB 6229 which alters how home brew can be brewed and served in the state. It’s current form does not allow for production outside one’s own home, and we can not support it. Adam York is our delegate to a number of other home brew clubs for the purpose of revising the legislation.
