You may have noticed that the brewhouse was closed for a private event on Friday night, which was a private class request from a bachelorette party. Jim did a great job of setting everything up for the 15 ladies & hosting the class with Lucas, who also brewed what they were able to sample while learning how to brew. Great job and many thanks Jim & Lucas!
Jim & Lucas, feel free to share any information about the class (overall impressions, lessons learned, etc) here if you'd like. Thanks again guys!
It was a great time!
I think in theory we had a good lesson plan: we had a batch brewed up to bottle toward the end of the boil/cooling; we had five beers to sample, one here and one there when time allowed; we had ingredients laid out and explained right at the beginning the three different types of brewing and then punctuated the evening with more instructions/info.
The only thing I/we didn't anticipate was the general deterioration of the lesson/tasting once the penis gifts started coming out. Lucas has more photos but here's the first one of the evening: "Mr. Stud" on our grain bins.
But, the coolest damn part of the whole thing was that we learned why the bride-to-be chose to have part of her bachelorette night at CHAOS: it was at our very own Stout Night 2011 when she met her fiance!
I don't really have much to add aside from a couple of great pictures of Jim. I put up all of the pictures I took into a new gallery but wanted to give a specific shout-out to the following two pics:
Jim looking pretty awesome with some great shades
Jim and "Mr. Stud" sharing a special moment
And of course, Jim the stud
Oh... my... god. Why haven't we done this? http://thechive.com/2013/09/17/guys-rig-up-buddies-plumbing-with-beer-wh...
