Have we done a bulk honey buy before? I'm thinking of making a mead or two and we could probably get some good deals on honey in bulk. Does anyone want to do this, let alone know where to get good deals on a lot of honey?

Group honey buy?
I'd participate. No good ideas for you about sources, though, other than Greg at BevArt and I'm sure he's using all of his own honey now with Wild Blossom Meads.
Also, I've never looked but I don't know that buying artisanal honey is cheaper in bulk, the issue sometimes is that you can't buy that stuff in big quantities.

We did one for a mead barrel project a couple years ago. Josh Smith would be the person to ask, as he's pretty much our club mead expert.
I was at a farm in South Beloit over the weekend and they had 4lbs for like $26. Not sure if they is cheap for bulk but seemed cheap compared to homebrew shop prices
How far from Chicago is that? I'm thinking I need a lot of honey but also don't want to spend like $150 if I don't have to.
It is about an hour 30 minutes. Just north of Rockford. I was at Edwards apple orchrid. A guy i work with in Michigan made some mead I can check how much honey is for him out there
Austin Homebrew Supply has 7 lbs of honey for $30 which seems too good to be true?
How much honey are you looking for?
18 lb....
He get the honey straight from a keeper. I told him we're looking for about 25lbs. He'll check and see what he has left since the season is almost over. We'll see but something to keep in mind for next year for sure
someone sent me a link to this webstore for bulk honey purchases

Prices seem pretty good
my guy in Michigan said he can give us 30lbs for $100. Seems like a decent price being straight from a local bee keeper and no bs will be added to it. I can get it shipped here on my company's transfer truck so no shipping. Just maybe a couple bottles of beer for my Michigan co-worker for his troubles :)
