Water Regulators & Neighbors

It turns out the reason others lose pressure when we are running water is because the entire building shares one 3/4 in water main. Most of our fixtures are either 5/8 in or 3/4 in, which means if we turn them on full blast, there will be pressure loss.

To meet code & be a good neighbor, we have regulators on all of our fixtures. Orginally, they were all 1 GPM, which is tough for our use, so the pot fillers have been replaced with 2.2 GPM and the sink has 1.5 GPM regulators.

I know that makes it longer to fill your pot, but we have to live with it for now.

Also, please run the counterflow chiller at no greater than half open, if your beer isn't getting cold enough, just slow it down through the chiller.

Neighbors with water pressure are happy neighbors, and happy neighbors leave us alone.

We do have the option to get our own dedicated service. I'm speaking to a few plumbers to get some quotes, but it is over $1000 to do. If we care that much, we can get dedicated service, then all the regulators can come off everything. Until then, please don't disconnect or cut off the regulators.
